Fishing
Anegada is known for some of the finest shallow water and deep sea fishing in the world. For those interested in fly-fishing, Anegada's waters offer a wide variety of game fish. Although these fish typically weigh between three and ten pounds, they are, pound for pound, the strongest fighting fish in the world. Fisherman can also rent a classic wooden boat or a newer ocean kayak and cruise the mangroves or flats where they will find bonefish, tarpon, snooke, jacks, and of course, the barracuda. The Northern drop-off of the island borders the Atlantic Ocean making deep-sea fishing plentiful. Charters are available with knowledgeable local guides.
Fishing Permits
It is a legal requirement that anyone putting a line in the water must have a fishing licence. Temporary one month licences can be obtained at a cost of $35 per licence from the Ministry of Natural Resources and Labour at the Government Administration Building (tel. 001.284.494. 3701 ext. 2147). Shore Side Yacht Services Ltd. can procure licences for your clients as well. (tel. 001.284.494.5135).Surfing
Surf season in the British Virgin Islands is roughly between November and March, and late summer Caribbean hurricanes often provide great waves.
Kayaking
Paddling along the powdery sand beaches and exposed waters near inlets and barrier islands provide an excellent way for your clients to view the quieter scenery of the Territory.
Windsurfing
The BVI's year-round trade winds allow for great windsurfing and kite boarding experiences. The BVI is home to the annual Highland Spring HIHO Windsurfing and Sailing Adventure in which competing windsurfers cover over 150 miles as they race between islands.
Parasailing
The scenery is superb when you're suspended under a colourful parasail. See the beauty of the entire Territory from 600 feet above sea level.
Swim with Dolphins
For a unique experience, your clients can swim with dolphins at Dolphin Discovery, located at Prospect Reef in Tortola. Visitors can get close to these amazing, intelligent creatures, as well as watching them perform acrobatics.
Power Boats
The best way to explore the BVI 's most remote areas and secluded beaches is by power boat. Companies on Tortola and Virgin Gorda will rent an unmanned boat for a day to those with power boat experience. Or arrange a power boat day sail complete with crew.
